These boots are not suitable for hooves trimmed at intervals exceeding four weeks

Because of the fastening system on this boot, achieving a good fit is very important.

Each shell has only five millimetres of width difference between the next shell size. This tight gap between sizes helps ensure a snug fit, but it also means that there is little room for error in measuring and determining the proper size of boot.

The Fit Kit allows consumers to fit their horse’s feet in the base shell before ordering, to ensure the best fit possible without the hassle and wasted time of buying and returning multiple boots. Pre-fitting in the shell will ensure a perfect fit in both the ScootBoot line.

The shell used in ScootBoots is flexible and has a great deal of stretch. Select a snug fit without being too tight (see video below).

Although taking hoof measurements is a great starting point for fitting any hoof boot, the Fit Kit will allow you to see for certain what size is the best fit.

Please note: if the hooves measure as wide as long, or even wider than long, you are advised to read this article. This type of boot does not tolerate flared hooves or high heels and will lead to the boot twisting or even coming off.

• provide the measurement of the hooves to be fitted with a boot. Possibly send us some photos.
  
• we'll send you a fit kit, that you can try on the horse
• the best fit is the boot that won't come off when you walk the horse in-hand
• it is advised to send a photo of the hooves with the selected fit-kit shell to us to confirm the correct fit.
• send the fit kit back
• order your ScootBoot based on the best fitting shell(s)
• the money you paid for the Fit Kit shells will be credited  or refunded (if returned within 14 days), you simply pay for the shipping and handling of it.
